ROBERT W. WHITMYER, CPSS
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Mr. Whitmyer
is a Certified Professional Soil
Scientist licensed in Minnesota and
Wisconsin as a professional soil
scientist, and as a site evaluator for
and designer of onsite wastewater
systems. He has 20 years of experience
in siting, design, operation,
maintenance, and monitoring of onsite
and alternative wastewater collection,
treatment, and dispersal systems.
Mr. Whitmyer
is currently president of MATRIX Soils &
Systems, which he formed in 1999 in
Duluth, Minnesota. His responsibilities
at MATRIX Soils & Systems include
business and project management;
feasibility and water use studies, site
evaluation, design, construction and
operation plan and specification
development, and construction
observation for onsite and alternative
wastewater systems; and sanitary
surveys. MATRIX Soils & Systems clients
include individual homeowners, onsite
wastewater system installers,
engineering firms, and public
organizations.
Prior to
1990, Mr. Whitmyer served as a soil
scientist with similar responsibilities
for Ayres Associates, preceded by
serving as an onsite wastewater system
code enforcement officer for Washington
County, Minnesota, where he provided
regulatory review and technical support.
In that position he also managed,
operated, and maintained alternative
wastewater systems serving numerous
residences of four shoreland areas in
the county.
Mr. Whitmyer
received an M.S. degree in 1984 from the
University of Minnesota, St. Paul,
studying soil physics under the guidance
of Dr. George Blake.
Mr. Whitmyer
is currently a resident of Duluth,
Minnesota, with his wife and four
daughters.
